About Us:

Family History

My great, great grandparents homesteaded in the Little Pine Valley in 1916, our children are the 5th generation to live in this lovely valley and care for it. The Little Pine Valley, is rich in water, grass, wildlife, saskatoon and chokecherries, and was favoured by native people. My Father gathered one of the best private arrowhead collections in Alberta.

Horses and cattle have always been raised by our family in the valley; the steep hills are not suited to cultivation. We bought our first Morab in 1988, and have continued to discover the great qualities of the Morgan, Arabian, and Morab horses, which are used on the ranch, and for pack tips in the wilderness. Our family has taught horsemanship for over twenty years, as well as training many outside horses along with our own. Through these connections we were able to purchase some of the finest breeding stock available in the world today.

We also raise organic beef, and have an excellent herd of commercial Angus. My daughter and I are currently studying environmental science, and our family has a strong commitment to caring for the earth, maintaining biodiversity, and the wild places necessary to do this. We are currently developing an environmental plan for this valley.

Our dream is that our family will continue in the tradition and privilege of caring for the Little Pine Valley, so it may remain in all its wildness and beauty.
